Selected chapters of Venice history will be presented in a sensorial – theatrical manner – with one distinction: whereas the audience in the theater is seated in a hall during the performance on the stage, here the visitors move among the sets, between scenes, meeting the characters of the historical narrative appearing in the footage that is projected on the set.
The presentation is based on characters of the commedia Dell' Arte and will serve as the thread running through the various historical episodes to create one smooth sequence. The passageways over the Venetian bridges and canals will feature the captions between the scenes.
The display is based on a precise and balanced combination of background settings (time and space of occurrence), narrative (fiction), and historical facts (substances). The experience lasts about 40 minutes, starting with the founding of Venice and ending with a scene from the contemporary mask carnival. This live experience will afford the visitor a dimension of depth that is lacking when touring the city conventionally – enabling him to relive the events that took place behind the doors of this magnificent city.
